Selangor FC to file appeal at Asian International Arbitration Centre

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 — Selangor FC (SFC) will file an appeal at the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) to challenge the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Appeals Committee’s decision to maintain the penalties of a RM100,000 fine and two spectatorless matches.

SFC said an earlier appeal was filed against claims of an incident involving the squad’s supporters during an SFC match against Negeri Sembilan FC on October 29, but it was rejected on Tuesday.

“The step to bring the case to the AIAC is in line with Articles 77 and 129 of the FAM Disciplinary Code, which recognises the AIAC as the only legitimate arbitration court.

“SFC remains committed and takes a principled approach in managing this issue for the good of the club and all Selangor football stakeholders,” it said in a statement.

Previously, SFC was penalised to play without spectators after an incident involving its supporters during the FA Cup 2025-2026 second quarter final match against Negeri Sembilan at the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium on October 29.

FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Baljit Singh Sidhu reportedly said the squad would play to empty stadiums for the FA Cup second semi final against Sabah FC tomorrow and their first home turf match in the same tournament next season.

Baljit said that SFC, which advanced to the semi final this season with a 6-3 aggregate, was also fined RM100,000 for recurrent wrongdoings under Article 42, Paragraph 1 of the FAM Disciplinary Code.
