SHAH ALAM, Nov 28 — Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI has prepared 400 sets of learning supplies for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates affected by the floods.
The foundation's chief Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said each assistance set includes stationery, a scientific calculator, and an Internet Selangor mobile data device to help students sit for their examinations more effectively.
“In line with the Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari's directive, the contribution worth around RM50,000 is specifically provided for students affected by the floods.
“Today we are handing the items to 200 recipients, while the remaining sets will be prepared for other students in need in the future,” he said after presenting the aid at the Selangor Education Department in Section 4.

One recipient, Nurul Izzah Mohamad, 17, expressed her gratitude when speaking to Media Selangor, saying she was touched to receive the assistance as several of her supplies and stationery were damaged by the floods.
“It was heartbreaking when the floods happened right before the examinations, but I am truly grateful to Yayasan MBI for this help,” she said.

For Muhammad Nur Airiel Yusri, 17, the assistance has boosted his motivation to sit for the examination.
“Thank you to the state government and Yayasan MBI. Hopefully, more students can be assisted after this,” said the SMK Seksyen 7 student.
Previously, the state government took proactive steps by providing special transportation to ensure SPM candidates staying at temporary relief centres could safely travel to their schools and examination centres.
