SHAH ALAM, Nov 27 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a continuous dangerous-level rain warning involving three districts: Klang, Kuala Langat, and Sepang, effective until this Saturday (November 29).
The warning at 10pm also covers other areas including Kemaman (Terengganu), Maran, Kuantan, and Pekan (Pahang), Putrajaya, as well as Seremban and Port Dickson (Negeri Sembilan).
It said the danger level refers to continuous extremely heavy rain that may cause severe flooding and infrastructure damage if not managed properly.
“In addition, several other districts in Selangor, including Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, and Hulu Langat, have been placed under a severe continuous rain warning.
“The same warning has also been issued for several districts in Perak, Pahang, Terengganu, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Johor, and Negeri Sembilan,” MetMalaysia said in a statement tonight.
Meanwhile, the alert level has been issued for areas including Penang, Kelantan, and several parts of Johor, Kedah, and Perak.
The public, especially those in flood-prone and low-lying areas, are advised to remain cautious, follow the latest weather developments and comply with instructions from the authorities from time to time.
