KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 — Selangor FC managed to earn a crucial point in their 2025/26 AFC Champions League 2 (ACL2) campaign after playing a 1-1 draw against Bangkok United in the Group G match at Pathum Thani Stadium in Thailand yesterday.
The result somewhat eased the disappointment of the Red Giants squad, who had previously lost four consecutive matches, keeping them at the bottom of the group and officially eliminated from the competition.
Earlier, both teams approached the game cautiously, probing for attacks, resulting in a goalless draw at half-time.
Resuming the second half, Bangkok United finally managed to break the deadlock with a goal from Rungrath Phumichantuk in the 51st minute.
Just when the match seemed destined to end in Bangkok United’s favour, Chrigor Moraes emerged a hero, scoring the equaliser in stoppage time to ensure Selangor brought home one point from their away game.
The squad managed by Christophe Gamel will complete their group-stage fixtures against Singapore representative, Lion City Sailors, on December 10.
