SHAH ALAM, Nov 25 — Twenty-three temporary relief centres (PPS) are open in seven districts due to flooding, said the Social Welfare Department (JKM).
It said that as at 7.55pm, there were 2,919 victims from 790 families at PPS statewide.
Kuala Selangor counted the highest number of evacuees at 1,570, sheltering at its nine PPS.
This is followed by Klang with 595 victims at four PPS, Shah Alam with 356 victims at three PPS, Sabak Bernam with 231 victims at three PPS, Hulu Langat with 132 victims at two PPS, Sepang with 19 victims at one PPS, and Hulu Selangor with 16 victims at one PPS.
The state government has ordered agencies involved to be alert during the northeast monsoon, including from logistics and emergency aid aspects.
Authorities have advised that residents take note of weather warnings and follow updates on official channels.
