Amirudin says authorities will probe allegations of officer’s luxury lifestyle

SHAH ALAM, Nov 21 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari will leave it to the authorities to investigate allegations that a staffer from his office is living a luxurious lifestyle.

He said the officer involved has lodged reports with the police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) following the accusations.

“We will let the authorities investigate. If there is any wrongdoing, we will take the appropriate action,” he said as a guest on the 'Keluar Sekejap' podcast with former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin and former Prime Minister's Office economic director Shahril Hamdan.

Previously, the Menteri Besar’s Office issued a statement denying claims circulating on social media that the officer owned a luxury bungalow and other assets.

It said that the allegations were spread through a newly created WhatsApp group while Amirudin was tabling the 2026 Selangor Budget in the State Legislative Assembly on November 14.

He said that integrity remains a top priority in his administration.

“For me, integrity is a priority, and we will take all necessary measures to safeguard the integrity, reputation, and dignity of the MB’s Office,” Amirudin said.
