It said the adverse weather is expected in parts of Perak (Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, and Batang Padang), Terengganu (Dungun and Kemaman) and Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Jerantut, Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin).
Similar alerts were issued for Selangor (Sabak Bernam), Johor (Mersing), and numerous districts in Sarawak, including Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri, and Limbang.
In Sabah, affected areas include the Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, and Beaufort), West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, and Kota Belud), Tawau (Tawau, Kunak, and Lahad Datu), Sandakan (Kinabatangan and Sandakan) and Kudat (Kota Marudu).
MetMalaysia also issued a first-category strong-wind and rough-sea warning for Terengganu and Kelantan until Wednesday (November 26).
Northeasterly winds of 40–50 km/h and waves up to 3.5m are expected, posing dangers to small boats, sea recreation and water sports, it said.
A separate warning was issued for rising sea levels in the waters off Terengganu and Kelantan until tomorrow, which may cause coastal overflow.
