SHAH ALAM, Nov 16 — The Menteri Besar's Office has asserted that allegations made against one of its officers are baseless, politically motivated, and malicious.
It said the accusations were circulated through a newly created WhatsApp group while Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari was presenting the 2026 Selangor Budget in the State Legislative Assembly on Friday (November 14).
“The wild allegations made are clearly…defamatory, misleading, and unsupported by facts or any form of basis,” said the office in an official statement issued today.
News reports had previously mentioned the existence of a WhatsApp group accusing an officer in the Menteri Besar’s Office of ‘becoming a millionaire’, owning a RM3 million bungalow, and taking his family on luxury overseas holidays since Amirudin assumed office.
In response, it said the officer concerned will lodge a report with the authorities as an act of accountability.
“A report to the relevant authorities regarding this slander will be lodged by the officer involved as an element of accountability, allowing us to refocus on the agenda of developing the state and uplifting the people, not engaging in immature politics through the creation of malicious, wild and false perceptions,” said the office.
