NARATHIWAT, Nov 11 — The Thai police are tracking down another suspect believed to be involved in the fatal shooting of a Malaysian man in Sungai Golok, Narathiwat, on November 1.
Narathiwat province police chief Major General Prayong Kotsakha said the suspect has been identified as Salip Samae, 27, a local resident.
He said their investigations revealed that Salip is the younger brother of another suspect, Alif Samae, 31, who surrendered to the police on November 2.
“At the moment, it has not been confirmed whether the suspect holds dual citizenship. If he has fled to a neighbouring country, it is most likely that he used an illegal route,” he told the Malaysian press through a local interpreter yesterday.
Prayong added that the Thai police are actively pursuing the suspect and conducting roadblocks to assist in the investigation and solve the murder case.
On November 2, Bernama reported that a Malaysian man was shot dead in an incident at a house in Sungai Golok.
