SHAH ALAM, Nov 11 — Six Indian nationals detained in connection with the murder of their fellow countryman holding a Malaysian permanent resident (PR) status in Pusat Bandar Puchong have been released on police bail, said Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar.
The six, who were housemates, including the main suspect, were freed after their statements were recorded.
“So far, the statements obtained from the arrests have not contributed to the investigation. All individuals have been released on police bail,” he told the press today.
Shazeli added that the exact motive of the incident is still under investigation, and updates will be provided in due course.
Prior to this, Serdang police chief ACP Muhamad Farid Ahmad said the 49-year-old victim, a self-employed technician, had been living in Malaysia for 19 years.
The victim was found dead on the staircase of a shoplot in Pusat Bandar Puchong on Thursday (November 6).
