SHAH ALAM, Oct 29 — The Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2025 recorded RM8.17 billion in potential transactions, highlighting Selangor’s strength as a leading business and investment hub in Southeast Asia.
In a statement today, Invest Selangor Bhd said the ninth edition of the annual trade summit featured 740 booths and 581 exhibitors, including 10 Malaysian states, from across the Asia-Pacific region.
“The summit drew 56,938 visitors from 89 countries, along with 179 speakers and 5,810 conference attendees, underscoring its growing international profile and role as a regional platform for knowledge exchange,” the statement read.
The four-day event featured six flagship components — the Selangor Investment and Industrial Park (SPARK), Selangor Asean Business Conference (SABC), Selangor International F&B Expo (SIE F&B), Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention (SDEC), Selangor Aerospace Summit (SAS), and Selangor International Care Summit (SICS).
“SPARK 2025 recorded the highest potential transaction value at RM6.96 billion, followed by SABC (RM844 million), SIE F&B (RM96.97 million), SDEC (RM208 million), SAS (RM52.07 million), and SICS (RM5.1 million).
“Each segment gathered industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to discuss opportunities in trade, investment, and technology,” the state agency said.
Invest Selangor said several Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) were signed, which signified the summit’s role as a catalyst for strategic investments and cross-industry collaboration.
It said some of the notable partnerships include the RM20 million Green Hydrogen Hub agreement in Batang Kali between Worldwide Holdings Bhd (through its energy arm Worldwide Energy Development Sdn Bhd), Ace Gases Sdn Bhd and SKS Coachbuilders Sdn Bhd.
“Under SDEC 2025, an MOU between Oppstar Bhd and AsicAI Co marked a major milestone in advancing AI-driven IC design and semiconductor solutions, supporting Selangor’s mission to build a world-class deep-tech ecosystem valued at RM50 million.
“The event also saw Xendit Malaysia launch its brand showcase, reaffirming its commitment to helping SMEs and startups accelerate digital adoption through financial technology innovations,” it said.
Invest Selangor added that the highest number of MOUs inked were between Invest Pahang’s strategic partners and investing companies, with a total of seven partnerships, including a RM130 million agreement for the Jerantut Square Development Project, which aims to promote urban regeneration and commercial growth in central Pahang.
Other collaborations forged during the trade event include MOUs worth RM1.185 million between Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor (Yawas), South Korea’s UNIUNI, and Hayat Technologies to introduce and localise assistive device technology and innovation in Malaysia.
An RM844 million Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was also signed between the Malaysia Chamber of Commerce Indonesia and Asiosasi Badan Usaha Pelabuhan Indonesia (Abupi) to strengthen business relations in the maritime and port sectors.
“Overall, the MOUs signed during SIBS 2025 covered a wide range of sectors — including advanced manufacturing, logistics, renewable energy, tourism development, and the digital economy — all of which are expected to generate sustainable investments, create new jobs, and strengthen industry value chains across Malaysia.
“With its emphasis on investment, trade, digital transformation, and sustainable growth, SIBS continues to position Selangor as the Gateway to Asean, connecting regional businesses and global investors through innovation, partnerships, and opportunity,” the statement read.
Held from October 8 to 11 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the annual summit was hosted by the Selangor government and organised by Invest Selangor.
