Police say yet to receive report on liquid injected into Rafizi’s son

SHAH ALAM, Oct 24 — Police are awaiting a chemical report on the liquid that was injected into the son of former economy minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli during an attack at a Putrajaya mall on August 13.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail in a press conference in Bukit Aman today said the force hasn’t received results from the Chemistry Department, according to Berita Harian.

“Negative, we’re still waiting. If there is an update, we will deliver it,” he said.

On August 25, the Health Ministry (MOH) requested patience from all quarters in the wait for a medical report on the incident that befell the Pandan MP’s son.

The August 13 attack saw Rafizi’s only son, aged 12, assaulted by unknown suspects at a mall in Putrajaya.

Previously, the top cop said 19 people have been called to provide statements, including Rafizi’s family members, driver and staff, as well as workers at the mall.

Khalid said the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage from the location is being studied, but the images aren’t clear and police haven’t identified the perpetrators.
