KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 — A man was killed and a woman injured in two separate incidents involving trees falling on their cars following a storm and heavy rain this evening.

The Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department's (JBPM) Operations Control Centre (OCC) occurred in Persiaran Dutamas, Taman Duta.

Meanwhile, a woman in her 39s was injured after the car she was driving was hit by a fallen tree along Jalan Metro Prima, Kepong Baru.

The Kuala Lumpur JBPM said it received emergency calls between 4pm and 5.30pm involving fallen trees in several areas in the city due to bad weather.

"Firefighters have been deployed to several affected locations to carry out rescue, clean-up, and fallen tree removal operations to ensure the safety of public areas," it said in a statement.

All incidents were handled swiftly by the Kuala Lumpur JBPM, with the situation successfully brought under control and clean-up operations carried out promptly at all affected locations.
