SHAH ALAM, Oct 22 – Selangor is expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall starting this November, according to the Selangor Climate Adaptation Centre (SCAC).

It advised the public to remain vigilant and stay alert to weather changes as well as official announcements from government agencies such as the Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), the Irrigation and Drainage Department (JPS), and the Public Works Department (JKR).

“Residents should remain alert to the possibility of prolonged or heavy rainfall occurring concurrently with high sea levels,” it said in a statement to Media Selangor.

The also advised those residing in low-lying and coastal areas to remain aware of high tide occurrences and to always prioritise safety.

SCAC also stressed the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness and ensuring that drainage systems function properly to prevent flash floods.

“If there are any blocked drains or drainage systems, the public is encouraged to report them to the local authorities for immediate action.”

SCAC also urged residents to have basic emergency kits ready, store important documents safely, and stock up on essential food and medicine in preparation for the rainy season.
