Malaysians with Singapore driving licence may apply for BUDI95 tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 — The Transport Ministry (MOT), through the Road Transport Department (JPJ), will launch a dedicated website tomorrow to facilitate BUDI Madani RON95 (BUDI95) subsidy applications for Malaysians holding a Singapore driving licence.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the initiative will help Malaysians working in Singapore and are required to use Singapore-issued licences, especially those in the service sector such as bus drivers, support personnel, and operations staff.

“The MOT acknowledges feedback from Malaysians employed in Singapore regarding the BUDI95 implementation, especially those in essential service roles,” he told a press conference today.

The BUDI95 website for Malaysians holding a Singapore driving licence will launch tomorrow, and applicants can check their eligibility after 14 days on the original BUDI95 portal.

According to Loke, all applications will be forwarded to the Finance Ministry (MOF) for review and approval. To qualify, applicants must be Malaysians, hold a valid Singapore driving licence, and have a valid Singapore work permit.

“We hope this move will ease the process for Malaysians working in Singapore and ensure they are fairly considered under the national fuel subsidy programme,” he said.

Loke, however, stressed that BUDI95 is exclusively for vehicles registered in Malaysia, and said Malaysians no longer working in Singapore may reapply for a Malaysian driving licence after cancelling their Singapore licence.
