Dewan Rakyat to discuss data leaks today

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 — The government’s efforts to restore public confidence, following media reports of the nation’s tactical security information being sold to foreign parties, will be among key matters discussed at the Dewan Rakyat sitting today.

According to the Order Paper on Parliament website, Datuk Khlir Mohd Nor (PN-Ketereh) will ask Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin about damage controls undertaken by his ministry to address the matter.

Ganabatirau Veraman (Harapan-Klang) will then ask Khaled to outline the programmes implemented under his ministry to protect the welfare and enhance the skills of Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) retirees, as well as the number of personnel who have benefited from such initiatives.

Then, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah (PN-Indera Mahkota) will ask Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh about talent recruitment programmes in various high-performance sports from the primary school level, and the extent of parental and school support for talent development from childhood to the professional phase.

After the oral question session, the Dewan Rakyat sitting will continue with the third day of the debate on the Supply Bill (Budget) 2026 at the policy level.

According to the Dewan Rakyat calendar, the policy-level debate will run until October 28, while the committee-level debate will be held from November 5 to 27.

Budget 2026 was tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Parliament on October 10.
