KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 — The Damansara MP's Office is ready to assist the family of a 16-year-old female student who died after being stabbed in an incident at a secondary school in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, this morning.
Its MP cum Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo said the Office has been instructed to immediately contact the victim's family and provide support during this difficult time.
"Space must be given to the police to conduct their investigation. At the same time, my office in Damansara is ready to assist the victim's family members.
"My team has been instructed to contact them and provide support in this difficult time," he said in a statement.
Gobind described the incident as shocking and heartbreaking, emphasising that there is no place for violence in schools.
"This tragic incident has deeply saddened many and shocked the entire nation. Schools should be a safe place for learning, development, and friendship.
"On behalf of the Ministry of Digital and my team in Damansara, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family of the young woman who lost her life in this truly heartbreaking incident," he said.
In the 9.30am incident, a Form Four female student died after being allegedly stabbed by a male student.
Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Khalid Ismail said the victim died at the scene, which occurred within the school grounds, while the 14-year-old male suspect, who is a student at the same school, has been successfully detained.
