SHAH ALAM, Oct 10 — Flood mitigation efforts and health facility upgrades in Selangor have been identified as key projects under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) and included as part of Budget 2026.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he met with state leaders to understand their development project priorities.
“The planning for the 13MP has considered requests from all states,” he said when tabling the Supply Bill 2026 in Parliament today.
Among the projects identified in Selangor are:
Sungai Buloh flood mitigation project phase 2
Building an additional block for Banting Hospital
Developing mechanical and electrical infrastructure to mitigate floods
Upgrading the federal road from the Batu 9 intersection to Jalan Dato Alias intersection, including the construction of a flyover across the Batu 9 intersection in Cheras, Hulu Langat
Developing a Type 2 health clinic in Kinrara, Petaling
Later, when touching on basic infrastructure, Anwar said Pengurusan Aset Air Bhd will invest up to RM13 billion over five years to ensure consistent supply of clean water nationwide.
The investment will include the Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant and will benefit 1.5 million residents in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya.
“The government will also continue implementing the National Non-Revenue Water (NRW) Programme at a total cost of RM3 billion. The 2026 focus will be on replacing more than 820km of old pipes in Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan, Pahang, and Selangor,” he said.
