SHAH ALAM, Oct 8 — PKNS FM Integrated Sdn Bhd (PFMI), a subsidiary of the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), today announced the launch of Malaysia’s first national Metaverse-based intelligence operations centre (IOC) at the Selangor Investment and Industrial Park Expo (SPARK) 2025, held from today till Saturday at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
At SPARK 2025, PFMI’s showcase of the Metaverse IOC symbols is not only a national milestone but also reinforces Selangor’s position as a frontrunner in driving digital transformation and delivering impactful solutions that bridge innovation between public and private sectors.
Rooted in its core expertise in integrated sustainable management; integrated fleet management; integrated industrial commercial and institution (ICI) waste management; integrated industrial park management; green industrial park (GRIP); and integrated energy management. PFMI developed the IOC as a natural extension of its business.
With years of experience in managing complex facilities, ensuring operational efficiency and delivering integrated solutions, PFMI has leveraged these strengths into a digital platform. The Metaverse IOC allows facilities data, maintenance workflows and project lifecycles (centralised labour quarters, or CLQ) to be visualised and managed in real time, creating a bridge between traditional facilities management and immersive digital innovation.
Developed with the support of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) under the Brand Metaverse Onboarding Programme 2024, the PFMI Metaverse IOC integrates artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), data, video analytics and 3D visualisation. By aggregating operational data into a centralised immersive environment, the platform enhances decision-making, strengthens crisis response, and reduces inefficiencies.
“This initiative is a proud milestone for Selangor,” said PFMI chief executive officer Shamshul Bahari Ahmad.
“By leveraging our core business in facilities management and project development, and combining it with advanced digital technologies, we are creating a solution that is both practical and visionary.
“The PFMI Metaverse IOC proves how Selangor can lead the way in smarter governance and sustainable growth, while ensuring every innovation we develop has real world application for the state and its people,” he added.
The inauguration carries broader worth. It strengthens Malaysia’s digital economy agenda, ensures smarter and more sustainable operations management, reinforces environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices, and positions Selangor as the first state to pioneer immersive intelligence solutions.
The PFMI Metaverse IOC will be established throughout SPARK 2025, offering participants a first-hand look into how digital transformation can elevate traditional facilities management into a new era of immersive, real-time decision-making.
PFMI specialises in facilities management, project development and corporate solutions, and is committed to advancing digital innovation, sustainability and operational excellence in line with Selangor’s growth agenda.
