SHAH ALAM, Oct 6 — Motorists who were charged unsubsidised prices for RON95 due to technical glitches at petrol stations can claim a refund of the difference, said Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Fuziah Salleh.
She was quoted as saying by The Star that the Budi Madani RON95 (BUDI95) rollout has been largely smooth since last Tuesday, with isolated system outages resolved quickly.
“If motorists ended up paying unsubsidised RON95 as a result, they may file for a claim,” she said.
Refunds cover purchases made between September 30 and October 31.
Applications open from October 9 and must be supported by proof of purchase. Approved claims will be credited within 15 working days.
Fuziah said take-up among businesses for the Subsidised Petrol Control Scheme (SKPS) remains lukewarm, with only 25 per cent registered so far.
Eligible businesses must register with SKPS and show proof of a fleet card application by October 31 to receive the subsidy.
Late registrants can still claim backdated subsidies from October 1 if they have receipts.
She also reminded that foreign vehicles are prohibited from buying subsidised RON95 and urged the public to report violations.
