SEPANG, Oct 4 — The Selangor government will provide several forms of assistance to support Malaysians participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) upon their return to the country, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said this includes the use of state government-owned hotels as transit centres for the Malaysian delegation, in addition to an allocation of RM1 million to the Malaysian International Humanitarian Centre (MIHC) to strengthen the centre’s role in carrying out humanitarian missions in Gaza and addressing domestic disasters.
Some of these contributions can be used immediately for their needs upon their arrival at KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport),” he said at a press conference at the Sumud Nusantara Command Centre here last night.
“We want to ensure the flotilla team receives a warm welcome and strong support, not only physically, but also in terms of the quality of preparations and strategy.”
