SNCC rubbishes Israel claim GSF boats weren’t carrying humanitarian aid

SEPANG, Oct 4 — The Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) has denied Israel’s allegations that Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) boats were not carrying humanitarian aid.

SNCC director-general Datuk Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby said proof of the cargo has been openly shared on social media by the GSF and Sumud Nusantara.

“From early on, we have been sharing proof on the GSF and Sumud Nusantara social media (accounts), including the latest assistance from the Turkish Red Crescent (Kizilay) that was sent by ocean vessel.

“The final tally is still being confirmed as there was a ship transfer, but since Barcelona, Italy, Tunisia, Greece, and Malta, we have been sharing proof of aid that was bought and loaded. This has become a fact to supporters all over the world,” Sani Araby said.

He was speaking at a press conference at the SNCC headquarters here last night.

He added that the SNCC had anticipated such a narrative from the Zionist regime, as this mission aims to boost global solidarity with Palestine.

“This is a clear indicator that the Israel regime is under pressure. Keep up the support as we want to maintain this pressure,” he said.

Meanwhile, according to a Bernama report, Sani Araby said Malaysian GSF volunteers, who are under Israel detention after their vessels were intercepted, are set to be flown out of Ashdod by tomorrow night (48 hours).

He said the development follows diplomatic efforts led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also patron of Sumud Nusantara, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

“With the involvement of the prime minister and the president of Turkey, we expect the repatriation from Ashdod to take place within the next 48 hours.

“God willing, we will welcome them home soon, possibly via Ankara or Istanbul,” he said at last night’s press conference, adding that the Turkish government will lead the repatriation effort.

He explained that Anwar has pledged full support for the initiative and confirmed that repatriation efforts are underway, and that the prime minister will personally oversee the process with Turkey’s support and aid from Wisma Putra.

“The prime minister has repeatedly contacted President Erdogan, the Emir of Qatar, and officials from the United States,” Sani Araby said of Anwar’s push to bring Malaysian GSF volunteers home.
