PUTRAJAYA, Oct 1 — Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Putrajaya Presint 11(1) has been named the winner of the World’s Best School Prizes 2025 by T4 Education, placing Malaysia once again on the global education stage, according to the Education Ministry.

The announcement was made during a global livestream on Tuesday, which was also followed locally at a special event co-organised by the ministry and Yayasan Hasanah at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC).

The event was attended by Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.

“Founded by T4 Education, the World’s Best School Prizes are the world’s most prestigious education awards, recognising institutions that inspire positive change through innovative practices that can be replicated by other schools worldwide.

“Today, SK Putrajaya Presint 11(1) was named as the winner and received US$50,000 (RM235,000),” Fadhlina said at the announcement ceremony of the Top 5 World’s Best School Prizes 2025 here.

T4 Education is a United Kingdom-based organisation that provides schools with a platform to share success stories and innovations. Its mission is to celebrate schools driving positive change, highlight best practices and inspire replication across education systems worldwide.

Since 2022, T4 Education has highlighted schools that make a difference in their communities, including in areas such as learning innovation, student wellbeing, overcoming adversity, and environmental action.

SK Putrajaya Presint 11(1) earned the award for its groundbreaking initiative, the “HELPIE” project, under the Supporting Healthy Lives category.

Launched in 2023, HELPIE is a mobile application designed to raise awareness and provide support for mental health among schoolchildren. Combined with peer-to-peer classroom campaigns, the initiative has already reached more than 1,000 students.

Fadhlina said Malaysia has a proud record with the World’s Best School Prizes, noting that in 2022, SK Kempadang in Pahang and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kampong Jawa in Selangor were shortlisted for their innovative approaches in education.

“This year, SK Putrajaya Presint 11(1) continues the legacy by standing tall among the world’s 10 best schools,” she said.

As part of the recognition, three representatives from the school will attend the World Schools Summit 2025 at Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi from November 13–20.

Themed “Leadership for a Better World”, the summit will gather extraordinary schools, education leaders, innovators and policymakers from around the globe.

Fadhlina added that the recognition of SK Putrajaya Presint 11(1) not only elevates Malaysia’s presence on the global education stage but also demonstrates how schools can pioneer solutions to pressing challenges such as youth mental health.
