BUTTERWORTH, Sept 28 — The Finance Ministry (MOF) is working with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to urgently resolve technical issues related to the eligibility checks for BUDI Madani RON95 (BUDI95) before it is officially implemented on Tuesday.
Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying said her ministry has received complaints claiming that they are not listed as eligible recipients despite having a valid driving licence and MyKad.
She said that although these were isolated cases, the MOF is taking the matter seriously and assured the problem would be fixed before the BUDI95 initiative is rolled out to the general public on Tuesday.
“The ministry is currently discussing with JPJ and we will resolve this technical issue as soon as possible before September 30,” she told reporters after inspecting the implementation of BUDI95 involving recipients of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) at a petrol station on Jalan Raja Uda here today.
She urged the public to immediately check their eligibility profile on the BUDI95 website, and those who encounter problems have been asked to file a complaint to enable investigation and action.
Lim said that apart from the complaint service centre, the public can also contact the hotline 1300-88-9595 by providing information such as their name, MyKad number and driving licence for verification and follow-ups.
“Here I would like to emphasise that as long as the individual is an eligible Malaysian, they are 100 per cent entitled to enjoy the benefits of BUDI95. There may be slight delays or technical glitches here and there, but we will ensure these issues are resolved as soon as possible,” she said.
Meanwhile, ahead of the full implementation of BUDI95 on Tuesday, she advised the public to remain calm and make their fuel purchases as usual.
Lim explained that there is no need to rush as each eligible individual can buy up to 300 litres of RON95 per month, and that purchases can be made at any time according to their needs.
Earlier, she said that the BUDI95 rollout for STR recipients went smoothly nationwide without complaints from users.
“Everything is ready. We have already tried various methods, namely, the Setel app, cash, and the Touch ‘n Go e-wallet, and everything went smoothly.
The MOF said that since September 25, 8.1 million users have checked their eligibility on the BUDI95 website.
