SHENZHEN, Sept 28 — Selangor today marked another significant milestone in its mission to shore up the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) ecosystem, by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with global digital maintenance company ChinaFix.
The MOU was signed by the Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre (STDC), APR Electronic Sdn Bhd, dan ChinaFix (Shenzhen Xinxunwei Technology Co Ltd), and aims to open new doors to strategic cooperation including technology transfer, electronic repairs, technical training, and human capital development.
This deal also makes STDC the main technology and facility transfer centre in Malaysia, with the goal of empowering Selangor’s position as a regional TVET hub, especially for Southeast Asian markets like Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia and Myanmar.
This cooperation is set to springboard investment potential and expand access to sophisticated technology in the electronic and digital repair field.
The MOU signing ceremony was the highlight of the Selangor delegation’s working visit to ChinaFix’s headquarters in Shenzhen.
The delegation toured the firm’s latest technology facilities, including for electric vehicle (EV) repair and printed circuit boards, which are widely used in modern industries.
Since its establishment in 2007, ChinaFix has trained more than 50,000 students worldwide through a large-scale technical training programme that focuses on TVET and developing skilled workers. It also produces various technical manuals and reference books that are globally recognised in the electronic repair and skill training fields.
The MOU is a strategic step to boost Selangor’s TVET ecosystem by developing local engineering talent and expediting the state’s aspiration to become Asia’s top technology investment hub.
A Selangor delegation is on a trade and investment mission to China until Tuesday. It is led by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari and joined by state executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han, Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, chief executive officer Dato’ Saipolyazan M. Yusop, Yayasan MBI head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor, Invest Selangor chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris, and Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) chief executive officer Yong Kai Ping.
