MB in China: Focus on energy, EV sectors, boost Selangor TVET

SHAH ALAM, Sept 27 — Menteri Besar Dato Seri' Amirudin Shari continued his working visit to Shenzhen, China, by focusing on energy and automotive collaborations with industry players.

In the morning, he is scheduled to visit the benchmark Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant, in addition to witnessing the exchange of documents for the CGN-STDC Nuclear Energy Training Programme memorandum of understanding.

The delegation is then set to undertake a benchmarking visit to the ChinaFix headquarters and Tesla ChinaFix repair centre to review the capacity for electric vehicle (EV) maintenance.

The visit was followed by a memorandum of understanding between ChinaFix, APR, and STDC for a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme on repairing and refurbishing electronic devices.

This includes smart devices, computers, automotive electronic devices and EVs, in order to produce skilled talent that meets the needs of today’s technology industries.

Amirudin is in China on a trade and investment mission to explore potential collaborations with several major industry players from September 23 to September 30.

The visit was also joined by state executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han, Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI's chief executive officer (CEO) Dato' Saipolyazan M. Yusop, and Yayasan MBI head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor.

Also present is Invest Selangor Bhd CEO Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris and Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation CEO Yong Kai Ping.
