SHAH ALAM, Sept 22 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has embarked on a nine-day official working visit to China, starting in Shanghai last night.
The mission aims to forge new partnerships and strengthen economic ties.
Amirudin is joined by executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han and Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, chief executive officer Dato’ Saipolyazan M Yusop.
Others include MBI Foundation head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor, Invest Selangor Bhd chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris, and Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) chief executive officer Yong Kai Ping.
During the visit, the delegation will meet with industry leaders, tour key sites, and sign memoranda of understanding in Shanghai, Anhui, Beijing, Shenzhen and Guangdong.
On the first day, Amirudin is scheduled to hold talks with StarPower Semiconductor Ltd, a global leader in power module technology, and Shanghai Electric Drive Co. Ltd, a specialist in advanced electric drive systems.
He said the trip reflects Selangor’s ambition to attract high-technology investment, expand industrial cooperation, and reinforce its role as Southeast Asia’s hub for innovation-led growth.
The delegation is scheduled to return to Malaysia on September 30.
