KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 19 — The Malaysia International Halal Showcase (Mihas) 2025 presents vast potential for Selangor to explore the halal industry at the international level, said Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari.
The annual exhibition also helps state agencies and entrepreneurs promote their products and venture into larger overseas markets.
“There is tremendous potential which has not yet been fully tapped. This is one of the areas we can focus on within the halal industry.
“Mihas is indeed an annual event in which we participate. In fact, we also have our own exhibition. InsyaAllah (God willing), it will serve as the best platform for the halal industry to grow,” he told Media Selangor.
Earlier, Amirudin, accompanied by state executive councillor for halal industry development Dr Mohammad Fahmi Ngah, spent time visiting the Selangor Pavilion at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) today.
The Menteri Besar, who is attending Mihas for the first time, also expressed satisfaction with the booths managed by Halal International Selangor (HIS), the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), as well as several other state agencies.
He described the exhibition as successfully highlighting the strength of local products and the state’s rapidly developing halal industry.
“It is a comprehensive exhibition that demonstrates our strengths. Not only in guaranteeing halal food production within the state but also in ensuring our supply,” Amirudin said.
Mihas 2025, which runs from Wednesday (September 17) until tomorrow, is expected to attract over 45,000 trade visitors and will feature 2,300 booths representing 45 countries.
