KLANG, Sept 12 — The Selangor government has channelled RM100,000 to Cuepacs Selangor to boost civil servants’ welfare, training and upskilling, and ensuring they remain the backbone of state and national development.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari expressed hope that the funds would increase civil servants’ motivation to serve more efficiently and with more integrity.
“Civil servants must adapt to current challenges to receive the people’s trust. When we do our jobs well, in a planned, neat and firm manner, God willing, the welfare of civil servants can be elevated, including by ensuring better pay and wages.
“This is important as we want to reach the level of high-income nations, and civil servants should receive wages that match those standards,” Amirudin said at the Cuepacs Selangor Hi-Tea Ceremony here today.
Meanwhile, Cuepacs Selangor secretary-general Abdul Rahman Mohd Nordin hailed the announcement, calling it a morale boost for civil servants.
He said the funds will be used for conferences, forums and training to teach civil servants to be more mature and not easily influenced by social media.
“Training will be given so civil servants in Malaysia think more rationally instead of just being accepting. For example, in Nepal, if civil servants aren’t taught well, it could compromise the welfare of the people.
“This funding would boost the spirit of Cuepacs Selangor members, who are all civil guardians. Much more training and activities can be conducted,” Rahman said.
