SHAH ALAM, 10 Sept — The prosecution has handed over relevant documents to the defence in the case of a policeman charged with last year’s murder of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) graduate Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah.
Lawyer Aida Jaafar Mad Ariff, representing Lance Corporal Muhammad Alif Monjani, 27, confirmed receiving the documents.
"The court has set October 28 for the case mention and on that day, the defence will inform whether they want to submit a representation or not," she said after the case management before High Court Deputy Registrar Nadia Othman today.
The prosecution was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor Maizatul Munirah Abdul Rahman.
According to the charge, Alif is alleged to have caused the death of Farah Kartini, 26, at SKC Farm, Kledang, Mukim Hulu Bernam, between 9am on July 10 and 6pm on July 15, 2024.
The charge is framed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, which provides the death sentence or imprisonment for up to 40 years and not less than 12 strokes of the cane, if convicted.
Farah Kartini was reported missing on July 10, 2024, after delivering a rental car to a customer. Five days later, her body was found by police in an oil palm plantation in Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor.
