KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 — Human Resources Minister Steven Sim expressing his concern regarding the number of women in Malaysia leaving workforce since the past five years is a worrying trend.

Citing a data from the recent World Bank’s report, over 50 per cent leaving the workforce in their 30s—resulting to the economic downturn in the future.

“This is unacceptable and something that we should look into. The government and employers need to do something about it.

“Under the Madani Policy Framework, Prime MInister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced incentives and initiatives to support and increase women participation in workforce, ” he said while delivering his speech, today.
