KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 — The nomination process for the 2025 Parti Keadilan Rakyat Elections saw Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim defending the position of Parti Keadilan Rakyat president after his name was listed on the party's nomination website.
According to sources, as of 8.30pm, the deputy president post saw Nurul Izzah Anwar challenging Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli.
Meanwhile, for the vice president position, 11 members have submitted their respective nominations including incumbent Chang Lih Kang who is the Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister; Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, the Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister; Selangor Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari, and Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
Other names also competing are Keadilan deputy secretary-general Dr Sathia Prakash Nadarajan; Keadilan Deputy Information Chief 1 cum Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Deputy Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan, and Bayan Baru MP Sim Tze Tzin.
Also listed are Keadilan Hulu Rajang division chief Senator Abun Sui Anyit; former Selangor state executive councillor Hee Loy Sian; Segamat MP R. Yuneswaran, and National Entrepreneurship Institute (Insken) chairman Mustaffa Kamil Ayub.
Nominations for the Keadilan 2025 Election involving the Central Leadership Council (MPP), Youth wing (AMK), and Wanita wing levels will take place over two days, starting yesterday online and ending at 11.59pm tonight.
The protest process is set for May 11 and 12, followed by the protest appeal (May 13 to May 14), the withdrawal deadline (May 14) and the final list of candidates (May 15), while the campaign period is from May 15 to May 22 and the voting is on May 23.
The Keadilan National Congress, including the AMK Congress and the Wanita Congress, is scheduled to take place from May 21 to May 24 in Johor Bahru.
