KUALA LUMPUR, April 22 — Four Super League clubs have obtained the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) club licence for the 2024-2025 cycle, said the First Instance Body (FIB) Committee today.
FIB chairman Sheikh Mohd Nasir Sheikh Mohd Sharif said the clubs that secured the licence were Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT), Selangor FC, Sabah FC and Penang FC.
Super League champions JDT qualified to play in the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League (ACL) Elite, while runners-up Selangor FC will play in the ACL Elite 2.
In a statement issued by the Malaysian Football League today, Sheikh Nasir e said this decision was reached during the 10th FIB meeting at Wisma FAM in Kelana Jaya.
The FIB expressed hope that more clubs would apply for the licence to ensure the Super League remains competitive.
