SUBANG JAYA, April 6 — The Selangor government today emphasised that aid for victims of the April 1 Putra Heights gas pipeline fire will be given even if they don’t have home insurance.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said this includes financial, temporary housing, and home repair aid.
He said priority will be given based on the home insurance ownership of Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru residents, whose houses were damaged in the fire.
“We will look into victims’ records, whether they have insurance.
“If not, the government will still help with contributions, and rental homes will be given… Plus home repairs if needed,” he told Media Selangor.

Amirudin added that additional assistance include temporary accommodation under the state government’s Smart Sewa scheme to help those affected by the disaster to find homes at fair rental rates.
The Selangor government expressed its continuous commitment to ensure the welfare of the people, especially those who fall victim to unexpected disasters.
