SUBANG JAYA, April 5 — The Federal government will assist in rebuilding all homes that were completely destroyed in the gas pipeline fire incident in Putra Heights on Tuesday (April 1).
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said they are deeply concerned about the plight of all victims and that assistance efforts will be comprehensive, including long-term support in building permanent housing.
“Further announcements will be made. This process may take some time as it involves various agencies and technical requirements, but the government's commitment is clear.
"We will ensure the victims receive the justice and support they deserve. Those whose homes were completely destroyed (total loss) need not worry — the government will do everything necessary to help them get their homes back,” he said.
Loke was speaking to the press after officiating the handover ceremony for cash aid and temporary vehicles for the victims at the Putra Heights LRT Station this afternoon.
He added that all forms of official government assistance would be channelled through the state government and Petronas, as previously announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“The state government will coordinate the official government aid, which will be distributed in the near future,” Loke said.
