KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 – The new season of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia, which kicks off on April 19, will see the playoffs to be split across two phases.
The playoffs of season 15, which is set to take place across two weekends will see phase one running on May 30 and 31 while phase two will be held on June 14 and 15.
Head of e-sports (MY and SEA Incubation) of Moonton Games Siew Hao Zhen said they revised the playoffs format as an experiment to further improve fan experience.
“In previous seasons, the playoffs would take place from Thursday to Sunday; this has led to some fans not being able to attend the weekday matches due to commitments such as school and work.
“Now we will do on both weekends, Saturday and Sunday. We believe the new format aligns more closely to our league's brand of being an inclusive and family-friendly community,” he said when met at the Infinix Iftar Night 2025: Powering the Future with MPL Malaysia, here, last night.
