SUBANG, March 14 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim engaged with Defence Ministry (Mindef) personnel today, in conjunction with the Ihya’ Ramadan programme at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Subang Air Base.
He joined over 700 personnel for Friday prayers at Masjid Al-Muhajirin and listened to a sermon titled ‘al-Quran Kitab Penuh Mukjizat’ delivered by the Armed Forces Religious Corps' director-general Maj Gen Datuk Mohd Rashidi Bujai.
Anwar then distributed 'bubur lambuk' (rice porridge) to the personnel.
The programme was organised by Mindef in collaboration with the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit and the Prime Minister's Department.
Earlier, the Prime Minister, who arrived at 11.55am, held a meeting with Mindef's top management to discuss governance enhancement, reform initiatives, and achievements.
Also present were Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, and Defence Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali.
Chief of Defence Force Gen Datuk Mohd Nizam Jaffar, Chief of Army Gen Tan Sri Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan, Chief of Air Force Gen Tan Sri Mohd Asghar Khan Goriman Khan, and Chief of Navy Admiral Datuk Zulhelmy Ithnain also attended the meeting.
After the meeting, Anwar met with six RMAF pilots involved in the flypast during the 67th National Day celebration last year.
