KOTA KINABALU, March 8 — Approximately 418 people from 121 families have been evacuated due to the floods in Beaufort as of 8am today, with Membakut expected to be the next district to be affected.
The Sabah Disaster Management Committee Secretariat said that 374 people from 106 families were evacuated to the temporary relief centre (PPS) at Dewan Selagon, while 44 victims from 15 families were evacuated to the PPS at Dewan Datuk Sri Panglima Mohd Dun Banir.
“10 villages are affected by the floods in Beaufort,” it said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the flood has spread to the Membakut district this morning and the PPS at the Dewan Kesenian Islam Membakut has been activated for possible evacuation of flood victims.
