KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 25 — In a competitive and challenging world, Muslims should embrace efforts to build economic strength, and master artificial intelligence (AI) and digital knowledge, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in a Facebook post yesterday.
The Prime Minister said at the same time, Muslims need to balance technological advancement with human values, morality and compassion, as emphasised in the idea of Madani.
The Prime Minister had yesterday delivered a speech at the Madani Knowledge Council in Putrajaya, in the attendance of the imam of the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, Sheikh Ekrima Sa'id Sabri.
After the speech, Anwar expressed his appreciation to Syeikh Ekrima for being one of the bulwarks of the ummah in protecting the status and position of the al-Aqsa Mosque.
Anwar further wrote in his post: "I also repeated my rebuke of Muslims who still choose to be divided because of petty issues — a sentiment I conveyed to the scholars at the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference (IIDC) in Bahrain recently — to the point where we neglect the efforts to develop and strengthen the unity of the ummah.”
