YALA, Jan 27 — Four armed men suspected of being members of the Barisan Revolusi Nasional Pattani were killed in a shoot-out with local security forces in Kampung Charak Vakong, Kerong Pinang district in Yala province, Thailand, at 5.30am today.
Yala police chief Major-General Seksan Churansirit said 100 Thai security forces, including police officers, soldiers, and volunteers had surrounded a house believed to be a hideout for the armed group in the village.
"Before the shoot-out, the security forces had negotiated with the suspects hiding in the house.
