i-City unveils towering attraction to boost Shah Alam tourism

SHAH ALAM, Jan 18 — i-City launched Sky i-City today, a towering 60-metre structure attraction offering a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors and tourists, as well as highlighting the company's commitment to sustainable tourism.

Its group marketing director Monica Ong said Sky i-City features an observation deck with a fully transparent glass floor at the top of the structure, providing visitors with a breathtaking view of the Klang Valley skyline.

The structure is also connected to a 600-metre glass slide which takes visitors on a thrilling ride through loops and twists while enjoying panoramic views of the city.

"This striking new attraction, adorned with energy-efficient LED lights, is the new landmark at i-City and has changed the skyline of Shah Alam. It adds to the growing appeal of Selangor’s capital city as Visit Malaysia 2026 approaches.

"i-City also focuses on attracting visitors from key markets such as the Middle East, Singapore, India, and China, supporting the Visit Malaysia 2026 goals, which aim to attract 35.6 million international tourists and generate RM147.1 billion in tourism revenue," she said in a statement today.

Ong added that Sky i-City reflects the company's objectives on innovation and sustainable development to attract visitors while contributing to national tourism and sustainability goals.

"The tower is illuminated by energy-efficient LED lighting, which uses less energy than traditional lighting, reducing carbon emissions and electricity consumption. LED lights also last longer, creating less waste over time.

"These features support i-City’s efforts to minimise its environmental impact while maintaining its reputation as Malaysia’s No 1 Digital City," she said.
