SHAH ALAM, Jan 2 — Yayasan Hijrah Selangor (Hijrah Selangor) has supported 2,806 entrepreneurs with RM55 million in financing from January to November last year.

The state subsidiary said the capital assistance provided is part of ongoing efforts to drive businesses growth and enhance the economic position of entrepreneurs in the state.

“We remain committed to empowering and sustaining the economy of entrepreneurs in Selangor,” it said in a recent Facebook post.

Hijrah Selangor encouraged those interested in learning more about the agency’s financing schemes to reach out via Facebook or Instagram or visit www.hijrahselangor.com.

On September 11, Hijrah Selangor chief executive officer Dato’ Mearia Hamzah said that the agency had approved 90,475 financing applications from its establishment in 2015 until August.

The financing had benefited 60,249 entrepreneurs under Hijrah Selangor, helping them expand their businesses.

Mearia also revealed the agency aims to provide RM1 billion in loans to entrepreneurs in conjunction with its ninth-anniversary celebration last year.

Hijrah Selangor offers various schemes, including i-Bisnes and Niaga Darul Ehsan (NaDi), providing financing of up to RM50,000 to entrepreneurs for starting small businesses or boosting working capital.

It also provides special financing of RM3,000 for participants of the Selangor Platform (U-PLATS) initiative.
