KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 14 — The number of flood victims in Perak, Johor and Pahang was stable this morning, with no changes to the evacuee toll.
Perak
In Manjung, 186 people from 57 families are still at the temporary relief centre at SK Beruas, said the Perak Disaster Management Committee (JPBN).
The Irrigation and Drainage Department reported Sungai Rui in Hulu Perak has reached the warning level of 165.79m, slightly above the normal 165.10m.
Two other rivers are under close observation — Sungai Plus in Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Bidor in Changkat Jong, at alert levels of 54.09m (normal: 52m) and 3.21m (normal: 2m), respectively.
The Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecast continuous rain in Hulu Perak today.
Johor
Forty people from 12 families were still displaced as at 8am today.
Johor JPBN chairman Tan Sri Azmi Rohani said all victims are housed at the relief centre at Balai Raya Kampung Batu Badak in Segamat.
“Only one river in Segamat — Sungai Muar at Buloh Kasap — exceeded the warning level, with a recorded depth of 8.85m,” he said in a statement.
He also said skies across nine districts are set to remain clear, with only Pontian cloudy this morning.
Pahang
Forty-one people from 12 families are still housed at three relief centres in Bera and Maran.
The Social Welfare Department’s InfoBencana app showed that 30 evacuees are accommodated at two relief centres in Bera — SK Bukit Gemuruh and Balai Raya Kampung Seberang Guai, while the other 11 are sheltered at Balai Raya Kampung Baru Pertanian in Maran.
