SHAH ALAM, Dec 6 — The Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) will release a list of problematic flood mitigation plans in the district in January.
Mayor Dato’ Abd Hamid Hussain said the list will be tabled to the state government to allow follow-up action to handle flooding in Klang.
“I just finished a meeting with Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari for the Selangor Economic Action Council, and he requested a list of flood mitigation projects be tabled in January.
“(The projects) include those facing issues in aspects such as utilities disruption and highway (routes), which cause delays,” he said when contacted by Selangorkini.

Hamid said the MBDK is implementing 15 flood mitigation projects with an allocation of RM17.5 million, including upgrading drains and building catchment ponds.
He added that 10 projects are active while the rest are undergoing processes such as quantity surveying.
He also said the MBDK will identify flood hotspots and manage the issue comprehensively.
Yesterday, Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj expressed disappointment over poor cleanliness in Klang.
His Royal Highness ordered the state government and the MBDK to act immediately to prevent frequent floods, including by formulating a plan and setting up a special team.
