WASHINGTON, Nov 13 — President-elect Donald Trump has announced that billionaire Elon Musk would lead a new Department of Government Efficiency with former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, the German news agency dpa reported.
Trump said in a statement on his Truth Social platform that Musk and Ramaswamy "will pave the way for my administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure federal agencies".
Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX and owner of X, was a top donor to Trump during his presidential campaign.
