SHAH ALAM, Nov 3 — Programmes and activities that involve all ethnic communities need to be held more frequently to strengthen harmony and unity among Selangor residents.
State Executive Councillor for Unity Datuk Rizam Ismail said he plans to organise more such events throughout next year to promote well-being and tolerance among the people.
“We hope the 2025 Selangor Budget will allocate significant funding for the unity committee because we want to conduct various programmes that involve the participation of all communities.
“Selangor is home to a diverse population, making it a mini Malaysia. This effort is also aimed at fostering a spirit of unity among the people of our country.
“We want Malaysia to remain peaceful, without issues related to race, religion, or anything that divides the people,” he told Media Selangor.
The 2025 Selangor Budget is scheduled to be tabled by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari on November 15.
It will be tabled in conjunction with the upcoming State Legislative Assembly sitting.
