Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the job fair also facilitated job opportunities for the elderly, Orang Asli, asnaf (tithe recipients), and housewives.

Involving more than 40 companies, the programme has also offered employment for ex-convicts, helping them to start a new life.

“We want vulnerable groups to feel comfortable when searching for work. This allows them to feel more secure not having to compete against those who may be more privileged than them.

“We do not want them to feel left out. That is why we implement such programmes and continue to improve state services,” he said after officiating the event today.

Meanwhile, state executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication V. Papparaidu said over 70 per cent of the jobs available at the event offer salaries exceeding RM2,000 to ensure a better quality of life for the job seekers.

“Jobs are offered not only within this state but also outside Selangor, making it easier for more vulnerable groups to find work. We encourage them to take advantage of the opportunities available,” he said.

Offering positions ranging from general to professional levels, the job fair, held from 9am to 4pm, features major companies including Aeon Co. (M) Bhd, 99 Speedmart, Safeguard Secure Solutions Sdn Bhd, and Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd.
