SEPANG, Oct 27 — Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin has graced the Ziarah Kasih programme by the Selangor Women’s Welfare and Charity Organisation (Pekawanis) in southern Selangor, here today.
During the two-day programme, Her Royal Highness began her visit at Gamuda Cove and her arrival was welcomed by Pekawanis president Datin Seri Masdiana Muhamad and state executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication V. Papparaidu.
Her Royal Highness spent nearly an hour at the 1,111-acre Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands recreational park to admire the natural beauty, followed by a tour of Hentian Tasik Sendayan, Rumah Melayu, the Splashmania water theme park, and the rotating Cove Aerobar.
As part of the program, she also visited the Hong Long Dragon Fruit Eco Farm, where she toured the world’s largest dragon fruit tower and observed dragon fruit bread-making.
The Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor also visited kidney patient Suminah Jono in Kampung Bagan Lalang through the Pekawanis Ziarah Medik programme, and presented cash assistance and a food basket.
In the evening, Her Royal Highness was scheduled to attend a gathering with the people and visit the Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple.
During the event, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin took part in making Chinese tea and painting Sakura flowers, which symbolises harmony.
In February, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin met with residents in the northern region of Selangor through the Pekawanis Ziarah Kasih programme.
Key locations of her visit included Rumah Gubuk Antik in Sungai Air Tawar and the Palong Cultural Market in Parit 8, Sungai Panjang, where Her Royal Highness provided donations to bedridden patients in Sungai Terap.
