SHAH ALAM, Oct 21 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has proposed the West Coast Expressway (WCE), which connects two locations — Changkat Jering in Perak and Banting in Selangor — to be extended to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang.
According to the Gombak MP, the extension of the expressway will benefit the whole area in the region, including Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan.
"I would like to express my gratitude for the various allocations made for flood mitigation, particularly in Selangor, including the Sungai Langat, Sungai Damansara, and Sungai Klang.

“I am also pleased with the Prime Minister’s announcement regarding the extension of the West Coast Expressway from Banting to the south.
“In my opinion, it would be beneficial if this extension could reach KLIA as well. Not only would this benefit others, but it would also enhance our entire network, leading to faster transportation, economic growth, and improved development in the region, especially in the Integrated Development Region In South Selangor,” he said during his debating session in the Dewan Rakyat today.
Meanwhile, Amirudin also expressed concern about the use of artificial intelligence, particularly regarding its impact on social media and the authenticity of information.
“Thesis and exams and the value of knowledge within the school system are at risk of being undermined if we do not take measures to maintain control.
“This does not imply that we aim to restrict social media or limit artificial intelligence, but it is essential to establish ethical guidelines to address the potential dangers associated with these technologies. Today, as we examine artificial intelligence, it is crucial to recognise and navigate these risks," he said.
Amirudin added that while artificial intelligence can make everyone’s lives easier, it can become a nuisance to the community and the Malaysian people if not properly managed.
“This is crucial for our education system and the values that exist within our society,” he said.
