SHAH ALAM, Oct 20 — Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin graced the flag-off of the International Songket Run 4.0's participants at the Management and Science University (MSU) campus yesterday.
Her Royal Highness' arrival was welcomed by MSU president Professor Tan Sri Mohd. Shukri Ab. Yajid.
"The Tengku Permaisuri also visited the cat exhibition booth, The Song-Cat Show, and proceeded to officiate the closing ceremony," said the Selangor Royal Office in a Facebook post.
6,600 participants took part in this fourth edition of the run, which aimed at raising awareness among the MSU community and the public about the importance of appreciating the songket heritage in terms of attire, handicrafts, and culture.
The event included five-kilometre and ten-kilometre categories, starting from the MSU campus and covering the surrounding area of Section 13 in the city.
